Connect AI Box MCP to Claude
This guide walks you through adding AI Box as a custom connector inside Claude. Once it's set up, you can ask Claude to call any of your AI Boxes, image generators, video editors, sales prep tools, anything you've built, directly from a Claude conversation.
WHAT YOU NEED
- A Claude account (free or Pro both work)
- An AI Box account , sign up free if you don't have one
- About 60 seconds of free time
Open Claude's connector settings
Tap "+" and pick "Add custom connector"
Paste the AI Box MCP URL
Connect Claude to your data and tools.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Stuck? Try these first.
I don't see Add custom connector in the dropdown+
Claude rolls custom connector support out gradually. On free accounts it can take a day or two after enabling, make sure you're on the latest version of Claude desktop, or refresh claude.ai once. If you're still blocked after a refresh, sign out and back in once.
The Add button is greyed out after I paste the URL+
Claude validates the URL before letting you submit. Double-check you pasted https://mcp.aibox.ai/mcp/ exactly, including the trailing slash. The most common typo is dropping the trailing /.
Claude says my session is expired when I ask it to call AI Box+
Your AI Box OAuth token has expired (we rotate them every 30 days for security). Go back to Settings → Customize → Connectors, click on the AI Box entry, and hit Reconnect.
My Boxes aren't showing up as tools+
Only Boxes you've published show up in MCP. Open the Box in AI Box, hit Publish, and refresh the connector in Claude. It should appear within ~10 seconds.
Can I limit which Boxes Claude can call?+
Yes. Inside AI Box go to Settings → MCP. You'll see a list of every connected client and can toggle individual Boxes on or off per client. Useful for keeping production-only Boxes out of casual chats.
